Taking Great Photos Without Knowing Everything is the focus for the morning.
We'll begin with making sure everyone understands a few basic camera functions and how to change camera settings.
Then, as you learn about exposure, relative to aperture and shutter speed in a non technical environment, you'll further understand how your camera "thinks."
For example, with regards to exposure why you may end up with photos being too light or too dark in certain situations.
You'll begin taking photos with your camera off the automatic mode as you learn it's not such as mystery after all.
Viewing examples and discussing the "rule of thirds," or guidelines, will show you how a few simple composition tips really make a difference to the end result.
Examples of photography techniques regarding shutter speed, aperture and depth of field and how to have fun with this is all part of the day.
Experiment with different subject matter and angles, timing, focus points, tips on flash photography and more.

"Shooting Like a Pro" is the afternoon focus.
Build on or begin to create your own unique style as you further experiment with your camera settings to support your interests and style.
Gain a further understanding of digital photography terms and photography techniques.
Additional practice and tips for taking digital photography, regarding composition, understanding aperture and depth of field, action shots and shutter speed.
Equipment demonstration for tripods, monopods, filters, and fun and helpful gadgets.
During the playshop you'll get to push buttons, turn dials and discover how easy it is.
Believe it or not, your camera manual will become a trusted guide and it will begin to make sense!
You'll be encouraged to get your camera off the automatic setting and learn more about the how and why.
Often, how to take good pictures can be as simple as thinking about your subject with a different mind set.
Light is another factor which can greatly enhance your pictures when utilized and understood. Light is provided from many sources, whether it's the bright sun, or "diffused" by cloud, shade, reflected, indoors and with a flash or without.
You'll certainly get to learn about and experiment with many outdoor photography tips for dealing with light variables and the end result you're after.
Many tips for taking digital photography will be introduced for discussion and practice to support your "hands on" learning experience.
Building on the foundation there can be a lot of information to absorb but, as stated earlier, we make photography simple and fun!
With further discussion and hands on experience not only will you understand more about your camera but your fun factor and sense of accomplishment will likely increase!
During both sessions we'll be illustrating points, inviting lively discussions and helping you get the most out of your time with us. Helpful tip sheets will be provided for you.
